Downtown Library Teen & Young Adult Center
The Young Adult Area in the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library has access to state-of-the-art equipment for teens and young adults to come and discover a variety of interests, whether through our varied and extensive programs and events or on their own. Here, you can find our Young Adult collection, which includes fiction, graphic novels, and Lone Star books. Need information about a tough topic? We have a selection of books that touch on tough topics, or you can look at our handout for more information. Our Xbox One is available during Teen Time for gamers, along with our board games and craft cart. Desktop computers are always available, or teens can check out laptops during Teen Time.
Teens also have access to the Makerspace. In the Tinker Room, those who like to create with STEM-focused technology, or they can create wearable creations in the Innovate Room.
