Donations of books and audiovisual materials are usually accepted at all library locations.  All donations are assessed by library staff to determine if they are needed for the Library’s collection.  Materials not kept for the Library are given to the Friends and Foundation of the Arlington Public Library.   

Donations are tax deductible. While we can't provide a monetary value for your gift, we're happy to write you a receipt for your taxes. Please ask for a donation receipt when making any donations.

Love Your Library: Amazon Wishlist

The Arlington Public Library has an Amazon Wishlist. The items in the list have been carefully selected by librarians to be added to the Library’s collection for our patrons to enjoy.  If you would like to purchase an item for the Library, please click on the link above and make a selection for purchase.  Unless otherwise instructed, Amazon will send the purchased items directly to the Library. 

If you'd like to be recognized on a bookplate, please leave the following information in the "Free Gift Note" field at check out:

Get Involved with your library by volunteering! You can volunteer with Arlington Public Library or at the Friends and Foundation of the Arlington Public Library book sales. We're happy to work with groups, so if you need volunteer hours for a school or business group, click here to learn more.

Improve library experiences by making sure that all materials are in their designated spot.

Lead tutoring sessions, conversation circles, homework help for 1st-3rd grade and support adults enrolled in our literacy programs.

Sun Club Sustainability Shop

Support the library through the purchase of recycled goods and Arlington Public Library branded items! There are gifts for every holiday for the book lover in your life. 

The Sun Club Sustainability Shop in December

The Sun Club Sustainability Shop is sponsored through a grant from Green Mountain Energy Sun Club to promote recycling of our most used resource: books. The shop also sells Dreams Begin Here shirts, refillable water bottles that can be used at three hydration stations in the library, tumblers, eco-friendly office supplies. and an assortment of other items. 

The Sustainability Shop is located in the first-floor lobby of the Downtown Library and will be open during all normal library operating hours.

Arlington Public Library Direct Donations

Make a tax-deductible monetary donation in memoriam or tribute to a birthday, anniversary, or any other special day.  Your donation enables us to buy books or offer programs that enrich lives. In return, the Library will send a letter acknowledging your gift to the family or individual of your choice.  If we purchase materials a personalized bookplate will be attached before the item is ready for check out.
