The Arlington Public Library invites you to care for yourself and your community by joining us in a week-long celebration of kindness. Kindness Week will take place across all Arlington Public Library locations and will run from Monday, April 10, 2023, through Saturday, April 15, 2023. Every day of the week we will feature a wellness event or workshop and end the festivities with a Community Care Fair for all ages on Self-Care Saturday. We hope to inspire Arlington residents to be kind in a variety of ways.

Author Shaundale Rénā will speak on the importance of self-care and taking time to listen to your inner voice of reason. This topic connects with mindfulness in the space of mental wellness and community service.

In this workshop, learn how to care for the health of your womb through holistic wellness practices. Monique Jeter of MoeTivate your Womb will discuss common diagnoses that affect our health and ways to make your innermost being as healthy as can be
 
Wednesday, April 12, 2023, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., George W. Hawkes Downtown Library
In this workshop, engage in creative wellness with Leeann Martinez by participating in creative art and movement activities that foster community, self-growth, and connection. Enjoy prompts that will engage the group in deep and healthy discussion.

Explore the signs, symptoms, and possible treatments of anxiety and depression in men in this free webinar. During the 60-minute conversation, ADAA’s experts will address the stigma that surrounds mental health and how the pressure to “man up” influences the overall diagnoses and treatment in men. Panelists will discuss how culture, fatherhood, race and more may impact a man’s mental health journey.

Be part of the Community Care Fair and learn about physical and mental wellness, sustainability, volunteerism and becoming active in your community. Join us for fun wellness activities and community demonstrations on healthy cooking, sound bath meditation, fitness workshops, and so much more. Look after your health by participating in health screenings, a blood drive, and a vaccine clinic.
