Book Talk and Book Signing with Author-Illustrator Jerry Craft

Arlington Public Library welcomes New Kid author-illustrator Jerry Craft for a Book Talk at Arlington City Council Chamber. The event will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
New Kid is a #1 New York Times Bestseller and winner of the 2020 Newbery Medal. The graphic novel follows seventh grader Jordan Banks as he struggles to fit in at a new school. Craft has also written and illustrated two companion graphic novels to New Kid; #1 New York Times Bestseller Class Act and the forthcoming School Trip.
During his visit, Craft will talk about his journey from being a reluctant reader as a kid to a Newbery Award-winning author. He will also draw his characters, answer questions, and hold a book signing at the end of his presentation.
The Library will also be giving away FREE copies of New Kid to the first 50 children who arrive at the event.
