Celebrate our annual Mayor’s Holiday Pajama Storytime on Monday, December 13, 2021, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. Our children’s department will be decked out in festive holiday decor. Families can enjoy an evening of stories told by Mayor Jim Ross, songs, and a special craft. Children are encouraged to wear their favorite comfy pajamas and bring a stuffed friend along for the fun. And before the night ends make sure to snap a family photo in front of the City of Arlington’s Poinsettia Tree which was kindly donated by former Mayor Tom Vandergriff’s family.

Activities will be geared for preschool-aged children, but family and friends are encouraged to attend. Click here to see the event on our calendar.

The Library will also be offering a variety of events this holiday season for all ages. Play Elf on the Shelf at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, the Lake Arlington Branch, Woodland West Branch, or Northeast Branch. Children who find the elf will receive a small prize.

Families can also send a Letter to the North Pole, by filling out this form. Our library elves will read your letter, get you a customized book bundle, and delivery it to your nearest library location. Make sure to submit the form by Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
