On September 23, 2021, Arlington businesses and residents will have the opportunity to give back by participating in the annual North Texas Giving Day. Since its inception in 2009, this online event has transformed from an idea to help local people give wisely, to a movement that has ignited a broad culture of community-wide giving. During NTX Giving Day, everyone can be a philanthropist to build a stronger and more vibrant community. In 2020, $58.8 million was raised through 106,000 donors benefiting over 3,200 local nonprofits, bringing the twelve-year total to over $375 million for our community. NTX Giving Day is the largest community-wide giving event in the nation.

This year there are over 3,000 non-profits you can support for North Texas Giving Day including many Arlington City departments. The Friends and Foundation of the Arlington Public Library (FFAPL) supports the library through fundraising, events, and advocacy all year long. Click here to learn more about FFAPL.

Both the Arlington Police Department and the Fire Department have support organizations dedicated to Arlington’s first responders and their families. Both organizations hold events that strengthen the connection between first responders and the community.

The River Legacy Foundation was created by the City of Arlington and citizens in 1988. The educational experiences provided by the River Legacy Foundation give children and adults the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the environment and their relationship to it.
