In celebration of August being International Peace Month, our award-winning World Language Storytime’s are back. Families can enjoy daily virtual programming that highlights the importance of exposing children to international books, songs, and stories. Starting Sunday, August 2 through Saturday, August 8 the following virtual programs will be available on our Facebook page:

In March 2020 our World Language Storytime program won the 2020 Cultural Diversity Award! This award was presented by the National League of Cities to eight municipalities across the U.S. Communities are selected by “demonstrating quality and innovation in the many aspects of cultural diversity.” These awards are given to honor communities “leadership in developing creative and effective programs to improve cultural diversity.”

These storytimes aim to promote early literacy and build strong family relationships. The stories are geared for preschool-aged children but the whole family is welcome to watch. Young learners will enjoy a unique storytime with a native speaker and learn a little about cultures from across the world.
