The Library Advisory Board seeks a teen representative to join the board. The Board is a diverse panel of citizens who are well-informed about the Library and offer a spectrum of community insights to the City Council and the Library Director regarding library resources and services. The teen representative is appointed by the Mayor and serves a one-year term.

Serving on the Board is a great opportunity to impact the community. Board members discuss issues facing the community and brainstorm how the Library can change lives. Service would make a valuable addition to a resume or a college application.

Applications are sought this summer. Applicants must be an Arlington resident and a junior or senior in high school during the 2019-20 school year.

Board members commit to meeting on the 4th Sunday of each month from September to June. Meetings are held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and are typically at the Downtown Library.

Teens must complete the City’s board application to be considered. Click here for more information on the Library Advisory Board.
