Are you looking for a creative way to decorate your home or to display your favorite image in a different way? You can transfer your favorite family picture on to wood. All you will need is Mod Podge and a few other supplies!
Materials
-
Any unfinished wood surface
-
A laserjet printer: your image should be printed using a laser printer for best results, an inkjet printer will work too but your image may not be as clear
-
Mod Podge
-
A brush
-
A rag or towel
-
Regular printing paper
Instructions
-
Choose an image and print it on regular paper using a laserjet printer, if you are using words or letters make sure to mirror the image so that it does not transfer backward
-
Cut out the image
-
Brush on a thick layer of Mod Podge onto the image
-
Place the picture facing down onto the wood, and press down to get out any air bubbles
-
Wait 24 hours until the Mod Podge is completely dry
-
Use a damp towel and press it onto the paper and let it sit there for about 5 minutes
-
Using the towel slowly start peeling off the paper, at this point you should see the image peeking through!
-
Finally, once you have finished peeling off all of the paper, wait about 5 minutes and add a layer of Mod Podge using your brush to seal the image in place.
