The Arlington Public Library is excited to announce that ArlingCon is going virtual! ArlingCon is Arlington’s premiere pop-culture convention, offered every summer by the Arlington Public Library and community partners. Join us on Saturday, June 13 for the same free community-driven convention experience as ever—this year, from the comfort of your own home.

ArlingCon is back for its sixth year celebrating fandoms and interests in a family-friendly atmosphere. The online convention will still feature costumes, art, gaming, creative workshops, and activities for children and families.

“ArlingCon would usually have a busy schedule of workshops and panels, plus sold-out vendor and artist halls,” says Program Specialist Tamera Miller. “We’re working with our presenters to highlight the parts of the convention that are the best fit for a virtual environment.”

Together with community partners, the online convention will be hosted by the Arlington Public Library on Facebook and UTA Libraries on Instagram. With a mix of live, prerecorded and interactive content, fans will have their pick of streaming events! The full online schedule will be released in the coming weeks.

Get ready for ArlingCon by joining the Facebook event and following UTA Libraries on Instagram. The convention is free and registration is not required.

Vendors and artists who registered for tables at the in-person convention will be receiving refunds on their booth fees. Please email arlingcon@arlingtontx.gov with any questions about this process.

ArlingCon will still be a day of geeky festivities packed with local creators, fans, and special guests! Mark your calendars for this welcoming and educational environment, open to newcomers and longtime fans alike. Click here to see ArlingCon at the Arlington Public Library.
